I'm sure that Princess Cadance's magic is absolutely wonderful to the show's target audience.
But I'm an old curmudgeon, so when I saw that she can
make two ponies fall in love, I called "brainwashing!" Then again, this is Equestria; where disagreeing too much causes winter spirits to descend and freeze everybody. Kinda puts things in perspective.
Truth be told, I wanted to make a Men in Black joke in honor of the new movie (which I have not yet seen). This is the end result.

UPDATE: Now featured on
Equestria Daily!Once again I owe a lot of thanks to those who have or will favorite this piece and taken the time to comment. I've been watching the activity level shoot up in less than ten minutes, and again I am floored by Bronydom's connectivity.
And I appreciate hearing everyone's thoughts on Cadance and her magic. I have nothing against the character, but it is interesting to hear the differing views.
Of course, that's just my two cents.
Still an awesome comic. :3
Yet even ignoring the Hearts and Hooves Day contradiction, Cadance's spell doesn't sit well with me, and it's unfortunate that was her introduction to the show. I couldn't support the character and things snowballed from there.
Yet I'm surprised at how many people have tried to convince me to think otherwise. It's had the reverse effect of making me dig my heels in.
