Dear Princess Celestia,

It’s hard for a competitive pony like yours-truly to let go of a challenge. Usually, if I’m gonna go down, I'll be flying and kicking.

But there are some times when it’s smarter to let the challenge go and accept that it’s not something you can handle right now. It doesn’t make you lame or weak or any less awesome. If anything, it makes you appreciate just how awesome other ponies can be.

I guess what I’m saying is that you can still be one of the best ponies, but that doesn’t mean you’re the best at everything.

P.S. Could you maybe send a few crates of eye-drops to Ponyville? We’re all out and the docs say I still need to hydrate.

After working on my last comic for so long, I needed to do something fun and relatively quick. Then I drew panel number five and haven't slept well since.

I've had this idea in the back of my head for a while, but it came to the forefront after the jousting scene in the Crystal Empire. In my view, it was not Dash's finest hour and went against some of the qualities she showed in Hurricane Fluttershy.

Special thanks to go

for the vector of everyone's favorite cross-eyed mare. I made some changes, but the overall vector saved a lot of time and energy.

After working on Dash's expressions, my eyes were starting to look a lot like hers.

Yes... legal...

But dang, this was quick. I posted this around 10:00 pm on a Sunday, went to bed, and was on Equestria Daily by mid-morning. Never even had time to send an e-mail submission. So I owe a big thanks to whoever submitted this, or perhaps to a EQD admin who saw and liked the comic right away.

It's fun to see the activity stack up and read everyone's comments. Hopefully you won't find my humor too cracked.

There are 5 levels of stare:
1 - Eye contact (regular stare).
2 - Flutterstare (high risk of heart attacks. Fluttershy's regular mode).
3 - Unblinking stare (this stare).
4 - Submission stare (what's commonly referred to as THE stare).
5 - The unseen stare (works on demi-gods as well, though the reason Fluttershy didn't use it on Discord was that using this stare would make everypony in a 4 mile radius die a terrible and agonizing death).
